Life, L♥ve, and Everything in between…

Hells Yeah!

A few days ago, I received a phone call from Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. The guy I talked with scheduled a phone interview for this past Friday. I aced that interview and moved on to interview number two, WITH an observation! This morning, I went and observed, and I had a great time doing it! The people were nice and friendly (with the exception of a few customers) and the managers were awesome. I was able to drive around with one of the girls who worked there to pick up people! At 10, I finally had my interview with the local area manager, the local branch manager, and the local assistant manager. It was kind of nerve wracking, but I made it through! All I have to do now is sign a few papers, observe on Thursday from 4 to 6, and meet up with the branch manager and tell him yay or nay. I believe I know what my answer will be! I absolutely cannot pass up a management opportunity!

I am sooooo excited! If I get this job, I am going to celebrate my new job by searching for a puppy and a rent house. A puppy because I need some sort of guard dog to protect me when I move into a rent house by myself. I’m hoping to get some sort of German Shepard, Great Dane, Retriever, or Husky dog. I think everyone can assume why I’m looking for the rent house! Wish me luck! If I say yes, I have one last interview and training to go though!

Oh my goodness. I am so upset about one thing though… I was spraying perfume on my wrists the other day, and it splashed on a Season CD of The Girls Next Door! It won’t work anymore! I’m so sad!

La La La!

I saw Sex and the City this past weekend, and it was AMAZING! I enjoyed it more than I enjoy the actual series, and I enjoy the series a lot. It inspired me to grab my season DVD’s and watch them again. It was an emotional rollercoaster of a movie, and it was just simply a wonderful movie!

So, back on the job-hunting frontier - I applied to Zales, a jewelry store, and just finished completing one of those opinion survey-thingies. Basically full of stuff that asks you, “It is perfectly okay to come to work slightly high.” Just stuff like that. Blargh! I’m getting so frustrated! Someone better call me soon before I go crazy! =D

Actually, believe it or not, though I don’t have a job, I’ve kept pretty busy over the past several weeks since our return from England. When I’m at home or at Eric’s house, I cook and clean. I always pick up my sister from summer school… so I keep busy. I also run random errands for my parents, Eric, my sister, and myself. It’s not like I’m sitting on my behind all day. Thank goodness, or else I’d go crazier than I already am!

Well, I’m off to cook some “chicken stuff”! Just for everyone’s information, I’m searching for some affiliates and links, so if you would like to be one, let me know in my comments!

Yawn

Another end to an exhausting week of more job-hunting and random busy-ness. I woke up this morning at 8 o’clock to take Diego (Me and Eric’s little baby tee-hee) to the vet’s office. I dressed nice because I planned on putting in some more apps, and I took the little Diego-meister to the vet for his 10:45 appointment. I forgot Diego’s humane society papers in my old car, so we weren’t able to figure out what shots Diego did/didn’t need. I guess I’ll try again on monday! Along with trying to help Eric out since he doesn’t really have much time to do anything for himself, I hunted for rent houses around Eric’s house for a girl-friend of mine who is moving back here from Kansas! *Yay*! I’m really excited and can’t wait to have one of my girl-friends back in the area. LUCKILY, I did find a cute little rent house in the same, quiet neighborhood as Eric. It will also be a nice, temporary spot for their baby girl to grow up. For a little while at least.

After calling my friend about the rent house, I received a phone call from my sister (Stephanie) who wanted to know when I would be home. Apparently, she and my mom planned for me to take Stephanie to meet her friend’s mom/friend at 1 or 2 in the afternoon without my knowing. Okay… So I went home since I was hungry anyway, almost get run over by some idiots from New Orleans, and then find out that we won’t be able to meet them until 3 because her friend’s mom is busy. That kind of sucked up some valuable job hunting time. Fortunately, I was still able to apply to Wal-Mart, Centennial Wireless, AT&T, and mail my resume to a Pediatrician’s clinic for a receptionist position.

After meeting Stephanie’s friend and her friend’s mom, it began to storm really badly so I went to Eric’s house, played around on his internet and cleaned his house until he came home around 6:30. We ordered some Domino’s pizza and automatically fell asleep afterwards, haha! I woke up around 10 to drive home and now here I sit.

Did I mention that I am the luckiest woman alive? Eric is just too wonderful =) I love him with all my heart! We’ve been together for over a year, and I still get warm fuzzies. He does sooo much for me that I enjoy doing things for him. I am truly blessed! =)

Hmm

Today I’ve been working some more on my pre-school portfolio. I’m almost finished though! All I have left is my lesson plan book which shouldn’t take up hardly any time! I plan on creating two lesson plans for each subject, some of them having activities to go with the lesson plan. Right now, I’m working on an activity for the children’s storybook “The Mitten” by Jan Brett. The story is about a little boy named Nicki who wanted mittens as white as the snow. His grandmother decided to knit him a pair, warning them he might lose them in the snow. Sure enough, while he was playing outside with them on, one mitten fell off and got lost in the snow. One by one, several animals (a mole, a rabbit, a hedgehog, an owl, a badger, a fox, a bear, and a mouse) crawled into the mitten to stay warm. After the last animal, the mouse, crawled into the mitten, his whiskers tickled the bear’s nose causing him to sneeze. All the animals and the mitten flew in the air, and Nicki found his glove. The lesson I created involves coloring a worksheet of the animals, cutting out the animals (to the best of the student’s ability depending on their level), glueing/fitting them onto a huge, white mitten, and glueing bits of cotton onto the mitten to make them white, soft, and fluffy, like a real mitten. I think it’s a cute lesson plan! The class I chose to do the lesson with enjoyed it!

Last night, I watched a newer episode of The Girls Next Door on E!. I LOVE their hair now. In seasons one and two, their hair looked so fried and damaged. It looks much better now! It looks silky and healthy now! I don’t know what they did, but they need to keep it that way. I hardly recognized Kendra! After seeing that episode last night, I pulled out season one and watched the first DVD of it. I see that there is an episode on E! tonight so I want to watch it! It’s definitely one of my guilty pleasures!

Well, I’m off to take a shower before it begins!

Yay!

I called the school this morning and asked to speak to the pre-school director. She wasn’t there (which didn’t surprise me) so I continued my day of job-searching. I picked up my sister from summer school and started complaining about how I haven’t even gotten so much as a phone call from potential employers, and the next thing you know, I receive a phone call from an unknown number on my cell phone. I got so excited and freaked out that I slammed the phone shut, hanging up on the unknown caller, the moment I had it open. Thank goodness for caller ID! I called back and asked if anyone had called for me… and it ended up being the pre-school director! She let me know that she received my application, and I let her know about the portfolios I had forgotten to mention on my resume/application. She said that she reviewed my application and wasn’t just interested, she was VERY interested, and that she would call me after monday to schedule an interview since they were meeting on monday to discuss the goings-on of the approaching academic year. She said they were going to see how many teachers they were going to need, etc. SOOOO… Needless to say, I am so excited!

I’m missing my Eric like crazy right now. I feel so incredibly alone at the moment. I didn’t get to see him today since he had such a short turnover at work. He arrived home at 7 o’clock in the evening and has to be up for 1:30 in the morning. Such a crazy schedule… I’m hoping that he will find something a little less crazy - I’m worried sometimes that his body will give out on him if he isn’t careful. He hardly gets any sleep, and he always sacrifices whatever sleep he should be getting to spend time with me. I do enjoy spending time with him, but not if it’s going to hurt him. I had to practically force him to go to sleep today so he could be up for work. He took it the wrong way, thinking I just didn’t want to spend time with him. Bleh, hopefully he’ll find something else soon. Poor boy…

I’m feeling kind of wonky right now. I have a headache and the snots - I think I’m developing a sinus infection… I hope not. Especially considering I may have a job interview next week! I guess I’d better try to get some sleep in case I am getting a sinus infection. Hardly sleeping won’t help things out at all!

Shortbread Cookies

I just baked some shortbread cookies all by myself, and I must say, they are good! Much better than I thought they would turn out. Usually, at least when it comes to the baked goods, the baked goods I make out of my cookbook come out of the oven tasting like burnt flour. They were also really easy to make! All you need is flour, butter, and sugar! Really simple!

Today was kind of a drag. I worked on my pre-school/kindergarten portfolio, cleaned the house, cooked some beef stew, and made shortbread cookies. TOMORROW I am going to call the school and mention my portfolio. I was advised to give it at least one day so I don’t seem so desperate. Me? Desperate? Nooo… I guess I just need to keep applying even though I’ve already applied to about 20 jobs… I am NOT even exaggerating!

I hope something comes up soon =( I think I’m going to die from boredom!

Happiness Is…

Stuffing your face with the most heavy, filling food in the universe! After church my family (minus my dad) and Eric went to my Aunt’s house for Father’s Day dinner. We ate a delicious dinner of BBQ ribs, sliced potatoes, carrots, Caesar salad, rolls, dirty rice, and chocolate pie! Talk about yummy! It was also really nice to be able to sit with my family and relax considering the drama that occurred during the England trip.

Good news on the job front (at least I think)! I applied to a small, private kindergarten school close to my house. Applicants do not need to be certified teachers (since it’s a private school), and they sounded really interested (Weeee!). I’m thinking of harassing them until they decide I’m worth hiring! I’m considering making a phone call tomorrow to tell the director that I “forgot” to mention the portfolio I created for grades Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten (which I will do my darndest to create tomorrow)… to kind of push my name out a little more and also show them that I actually have something put together. I think they would be impressed. It’s a little kiss-ass, but hey, I’m desperate at this point, and I really really really need a job.

I think I’m going to Wal-mart in a few minutes. I’m really desperate for something to do… this cabin fever is killing me!

Needles, Ouch!

I went to the dentist this morning about the supposed canker sore I have in the back of my mouth. I found out it was a small infection. It doesn’t surprise me too much considering the pain, swelling, and oozing taking place inside my mouth. It was on the gums/wall of my mouth where my bottom wisdom tooth is STILL pushing through meaning it probably happened because of food sinking into my gums. Bleh. Another theory (since they also found an ulcer in the same exact spot) is that the ulcer caused my inflamed gums to lift off the tooth creating an entry for food, bacteria, etc. The worst part of going to the dentist today was probably the cleaning of that area. It really hurt! They were poking around the infection with a syringe (needle, ACK!) cleaning it with peroxide and distilled water. I am so thankful that I have my antibiotics now! Especially since I now have a tonsil infection because of the stupid post-nasal drip that has been bugging me. Geez, if it’s not one thing it’s another…

I’m still waiting for a response from possible employers… Bleh. After this infection heals up, I’m going to have to put in 50 more applications. I think it’s hilarious - since I graduated from college, no one wants to hire me. When I was in school, everyone and their brother wanted to hire me! I’m wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that it’s summer - all the non-graduated high-schoolers as well as college and high-school graduates are looking for jobs. Whatever the case, it’s getting annoying, and I’m getting really bored. Something will come up soon though… hopefully. I’ll just do what I can while continuing my search! Woo-hoo!

La Dee Da

This weekend was mighty interesting. Sunday Eric and I went to a pool party/BBQ for one of our friends who just returned from Kuwait. There I witnessed a slightly tipsy male friend jump off the roof of his house into the pool… as if that’s already funny/crazy enough, he did it completely naked. Yep. I also witnessed a very drunk girl fall out of a chair and flat on her face busting her lip. Not just a little scrape, but completely busting it to where we actually wondered if she might want to consider going to the hospital. Needless to say it was very interesting, but it was also very fun. I enjoyed spending time with and seeing everyone again. It also made me realize how much we are growing up. Beginning in July of this year, things won’t be the same with one friend in Texas attending culinary school, one friend moving to freakin’ England to attend freakin’ OXFORD UNIVERSITY, one moving to another city to attend graduate school… overall, a lot of change. The “everyone moving in different directions” sort of change. I hope me and Eric are able to spend as much time with them as we can before everyone moves off. As the guy who returned from Kuwait said, “We all need to get together and do something! And not just a little something, a big something! With everyone leaving, we don’t know when we might get the chance to see one another again.” And it’s so true.

Ugh, I’ve still been applying for jobs and no luck so far! I’ve been offered a part-time position at Cato’s, but I’m looking for full-time. I’m going to head out once again and job-search hardcore again.

On a final note, there is a damn canker sore on the back of my mouth + wall of my mouth, and it has irritating the crap out of me for the past 4 days! I think it’s finally starting to heal now that it busted, thank goodness, because I’ve been losing sleep over this thing! Bleh… If it isn’t any better by tomorrow, I’m calling the dentist!

Yesterday I went a little nuts. I went and applied at more than 9 places. Yes, I said it: NINE! I’m going to give it a rest for a little while to see if I have any responses, and if I don’t, I’ll go hardcore at it again. It’s already getting to be frustrating to me… to think that one minute you are practically handed a job, and the next it’s taken away. I’ll just keep trying though. Something is bound to pop up sooner or later.

Poor Eric has yet another long trip today. He works at a detention facility transporting illegal aliens here there and everywhere. Yesterday he and a coworker drove all the way to Alabama, and today, he and a coworker are driving all the way to Arkansas. I don’t think they normally give them two long trips in a row, but they did it this week. I feel so bad for him because he got four hours of sleep at the most, and he only got three or so hours of sleep the night before! I really hope things stabilize for him because this job is taking its toll on him. He hardly gets any sleep, and he says he just feels like total crap.

England pictures will be uploaded soon, and EVERYONE NEEDS TO VISIT MY SISTER’S WEBSITE! Go! Now!
